CEO says Sberbank to raise net profit significantly in 2021

MOSCOW, Apr 23 (PRIME) -- The net profit of Russia’s top bank Sberbank will grow significantly in 2021 as compared with 2020, CEO German Gref told reporters on Friday.

“Speaking of our net profit, the first quarter was very inspiring as we significantly raised the amount of net profit compared with the previous year. I would like to refrain from forecasts, but it will likely be higher not by an insignificant amount (this year) than last year, but by a noticeably larger amount. Still, we should continue working instead of making forecasts,” he said.

Sberbank’s net profit fell 10% on the year to 760.3 billion rubles in 2019, as calculated under International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS).
